COMSAT Brasil Recognized as 'Top Telecommunications Company' for 5th Consecutive Year

COMSAT Brasil, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Global Telecommunications, has again won recognition as one of the top telecommunications companies in Brazil by IDG Publications, publishers of annual World Telecom Magazine 100 Best Telecommunications, 2001.

The magazine has named COMSAT Brasil as the best frame relay services provider among all of the network carriers in the country.

This is the fifth consecutive year that COMSAT Brasil has received the "best in class" award from IDG. In previous years COMSAT Brasil has been recognized as best in country for "Value-Added Network Service Provider," "Outsourcing of Satellite Networks," and twice named "Best Satellite Company."

This year's award will be presented on October 10 in Sao Paulo and is based on such factors as market share, mix of products and services, gross revenue, infrastructure investment, and commitment and image with the Brazilian market.

According to the publication's editors, COMSAT Brasil diversified its product line and changed its profile after its merger with Lockheed Martin Global Telecommunications last year.
