Lockheed Martin Information Technology (LMIT) Awarded Texas Seat Management Contract

SEABROOK, Md., May 29, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE: LMT), has been selected by the State of Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) to provide managed information technology services to all state agencies, county and local governments and municipalities, as well as universities, community colleges, and other learning institutions. Lockheed Martin Information Technology (LMIT), headquartered in Seabrook, Maryland, will manage the contract.

The DIR's Computer Desktop Seat Management contracts are statewide contracting vehicles that have no maximum value and a potential duration of seven years. Lockheed Martin expects to provide nearly $200 million in outsourced IT services with state agencies over the life of the contract.

To satisfy the needs of state agencies, Lockheed Martin will draw on its experience performing similar desktop services for numerous organizations, including the states of Maryland and North Carolina, as well as NASA's Office of Space Flight, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the U.S. Department of Energy's Hanford Site in Washington State.

The services required under this contract include installation and maintenance for desktops, laptops, and servers, as well as printer, help desk services, and deskside services.
